Most people say the same thing before we start. "I'm not good at photos."


By the end? "That was actually fun."


That shift is my favorite part. It has been for 30 years.

Hi, I’m April

How this started

I picked up a camera at 12 for a 4-H project. Developed my own film. Shot fully manual before autofocus was a given. Studied photography and graphic design at Pittsburg State.


That was the foundation. What came after was 30 years of showing up for people.


Seniors who did not know how to pose. Women who had not been photographed in a decade. Families who were sure their kids would not cooperate. Every single one of them walked away with images they love.

 

The credentials, since you asked

Certified Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman through the Professional Photographers of America. A credential held by fewer than two percent of photographers in the country. The only nationally recognized Hot 100 Senior Photographer in Southeast Kansas.


But the credential I am most proud of does not come with a ribbon.


Two girls joined my Creator Team as sophomores. Their moms told me a year later how differently their daughters carried themselves. One of them is planning her senior session in London. I am going with her.

A little more about me

Jesus girl. Married to my high school sweetheart. Devoted to our kids and completely obsessed with being a Mimi.


I love to travel, which is probably why destination sessions feel so natural. I am always up for an adventure when it means creating something meaningful in a place that matters.


Sweet tea and Dr. Pepper lover. Show up with one, and we are already off to a great start.
